The Inn at Perry Cabin and Midnight Madness in St. Michaels, MD

I just realized I wrote about this great spot on TripAdvisor and forgot to write about it for you here!! I’m sorry! Well, this romantic, peaceful, luxurious retreat was a great place for a girls weekend a couple weekends ago!

It was a little cold to enjoy all the beauty of the property outside, but this little slice of peaceful nature gazing was right outside our room. We arrived at the Inn at Perry Cabin on a Saturday around noon and our rooms were ready at check in, which was very nice. While we thought there were adjoining rooms, that’s not actually the case, but it was totally fine and we were just side by side. The propriety has several buildings linked together with indoor and outdoor walkways and is very well kept, everything looks quite new, and feels like a big mansion. It’s also pet friendly!! However, it’s not cheap. But it’s worth it. Stepping outside our patio, I checked out the property a little and enjoyed its simple elegance.

The rooms were very comfy. We got the waterfront suite with a fireplace (it was just an electric one, so don’t expect a crackling fire – that would have been cool for our December getaway!). But the floors in the bathroom had heated tiles, so that was nice on this chilly weekend.

The inn was decorated for the holidays, very tastefully.

There was so much outdoor seating that I’ll have to come back in warmer weather to enjoy! And the inn offers bikes for tooling around St. Michaels! I’ll definitely check them out next time!

This weekend was host to Midnight Madness in St. Michaels, when the shops stay open late, offer snacks and drinks, and the town raffles off luxury gift baskets (some have hotel nigh stays and are worth $$$$$). St. Michaels is an adorable little town along the Chesapeake and has a main strip of shops and restaurants, dockside dining options, and is just a nice and quaint place all around for a weekend or day trip.

We enjoyed a light dinner at the Bistro St. Michaels with yummy pear martinis, truffle fries, and oysters.

Great ambience at the little back bar, it felt like our own private parry. Those truffle fries…I’m still thinking about them! You could smell the truffle emanating from the kitchen before they even got to us!

We spent some good quality time with fine wines back in the room too. We brought in dinner the second night from Ava’s, a cute Italian restaurant with good pizzas, salads, and other Italian fare – very tasty!! And this time we got blue cheese fries instead of truffle fries. I love fries.

We enjoyed a bottle of the Three Graces from Clos Du Val with our take out pizza dinner. Mmmmm

After dinner in the room, we spent a fun time in the Inn’s pub, fireside, for cocktails and dessert. Got the fig martini and a chocolate mousse kinda thing.

I thought the second shot was pretty cool – a pic of me taking the pic. Cool, yeah?

The Inn offers an excellent Sunday brunch and my favorite thing was definitely the bacon. It was crispy, sweet, spicy, and sticky!!! So we wondered what it would taste like dipped in Nutella.

Interesting, but better on its own. Their bacon alone is worth the price of the buffet, but of course there was plenty more. We also had breakfast there Monday morning and had the best crab Benedict ever!! They say it’s crabcake Benedict, but if there’s no filler, can you call it a crab “cake??” It was outstanding. The hollandaise was perfect and instead of an English muffin, it was served on wilted spinach and a roasted tomato with an amazing potato cake on the side. Sooooooo decadently delicious!

Such a nice, comfy, cozy stay here!! We also enjoyed massages at the spa. Ahhhh! I recommend this place for a girls weekend or a romantic retreat for sure! I will definitely bring the hubs back here sometime soon!
