The Hotel Hershey: Good Family Fun @thesweetestplaceonearth

If you’re a mid-east coast local like me, Hershey, PA is a great summer weekend for the family and the Hotel Hershey is the perfect hang spot.

It’s old charm and elegance envelopes you from the moment you get there. Founded by Milton Hershey, it sits just above Hershey Park and watches over the family fun! The grounds are beautifully kept and the rooms are simple but nicely appointed. Plenty of picturesque locations.

The pool is great and the kids had no problem spending a day and a half just playing there!

There’s also an adults only pool and hot tub, which was a nice little escape! Good poolside food and drink, I enjoyed the boneless wings with the chocolate bbq sauce and a yummy Cabana Tea.

And there are tons of other activities, like ping pong, mini golf, games, and of course plenty of chocolate everywhere.

The staff is incredibly friendly at every turn. Maybe they’re pumped full of the sweet stuff too!! The Iberian Lounge and Fountains is a great spot to hang with a Signature Hershey’s Kiss Chocolate Martini!

The dining options are excellent! The Circular is an upscale restaurant with nice options for the whole family. I went with a delicious spinach, citrus salad with these lovely little raspberry puffs and the cocoa-dusted scallops.

I also shared a bite of the special, a succulent grouper with banana flavors in the rice and beans. Really cool!

The cocktail menu was exciting, and we got a drink with some flare – the Purple Dragon.

Poured tableside over a large ice sphere!

How pretty and bright!! Our evenings ended on a beautiful, expansive outdoor patio with lounge and table seating, rockers and a fire pit, and beautiful views of the stars – we hit at a great time of a blood moon and a planet alignment where you could see Venus, Jupiter, and Mars all together in the night sky!! So cool!!

We also dined at my The Harvest, which I think is my favorite dinner spot there. Great menu, tough to choose, but I went with the hanger steak since that’s not an easy find. I had with it a birch beer reduction and the sweetness really set off the meatiness of the cut.

The Harvest also has a nice little arcade to entertain the little ones while the grown ups enjoy the rustic yet elegant atmosphere. I realize now is failed to snap enough pics of my weekend, but I was too busy enjoying it!!!

I also spent a fabulous day golfing. The Hershey courses were saturated from days of rain, so we drove about 20 minutes to play Iron Valley. What a fun course!!

With my pop!! The front nine is links style and the back nine is tightly lined with trees. Challenging but not overwhelming. Mind over matter, of course I lost two balls trying to land the island green which really shouldn’t have been a problem. I also lost two balls for no reason right into the woods because I hit excellent drives in the exact wrong direction!!

Those woods here behind me! Can you see my ball? We did spend a nice full day at the park too, which the kids loved and I realized my neck is to old for roller coasters. Not me, my neck. Sucks because I used to love them when I was younger!! And we had fun buying plenty of chocolate at Chocolate World after a day in Hershey Park.

We ended our trip last time with the beautiful butterfly gardens at the Hotel Hershey. This time we were all pretty tired, but it’s a really cool place to see lots of flowers and butterflies. For some reason I don’t have my pics from the last time readily available as I ride the train early this morning to work. Ugh!!

Happy thoughts back to my great long weekend in Hershey!! Looking forward to next time!
