More on the Pomegranate

Pomegranates are not only tasty and extraordinary versatile – they go on practically anything – but they are also super healthy. They contain good amounts of vitamins (C and Potassium) and minerals, as well as anti-oxidants. The possess powers known to fight cancer, lower risks of heart disease and blood pressure, improve athletic function, joint health, memory, and even help with erectile dysfunction. Interesting, right?

But I love their whole deal – fighting to get those seeds out with no pattern to their placement in that randomly-chambered home that just looks like a big weird apple on the outside, popping the seeds into your mouth, preparing for the bite, and then whoosh!! A tiny but powerful explosion of sweet tartness and the crunch of the seed. So delicious!!

The other night, I simply enhanced an orange ginger soy glazed salmon and orange roasted asparagus and peppers with the pomegranate. Ta-da!!

Use them on any protein – chicken, fish, steak, pork, whatever suits your fancy. Drop them in a Cosmo. Sprinkle them on a salad. Go ahead. I’ll hold…
